The location of Sandpoint means that each and every season here comes with its own distinct benefits. For many visitors, that offers the opportunity to make several visits a year, and enjoy distinctly different experiences. 


Regardless of the season you visit in you will enjoy endless recreation opportunities but weather can be extreme so come prepared! If you’re coming in the summer it get hot and if you’re here in the early spring or late fall, bring plenty of warm clothes as the evenings can be chilly.

TEMPERATURES

Daily winter temperatures can range from 32°F to -20°F. In the summer, they range from mid 70 to 90°F. Depending on your location, you may be well protected by trees. 

SNOWFALL

In the upper regions of of the park, we receive an average of about 1050 mm of snow per year. In the lower regions, the average is about 850 mm per year.

RAINFALL

Prepare yourself for rain if you are coming in the spring or fall as it generally rains every few days, and usually for several hours at a time. The winds can be strong, too, so come prepared.
